I just got this email from a friend in England. It's moving now into the States and I hope some of my fellow Field Hands will join to stop this legislation. THis HAS to be stopped- it is unbelieveable- let all your friends know! Do something! Nor...

Thanks for the info, Suzy. Also, thanks for the comment about my Mom. She was only 66 when she died-pancreatic cancer. She worked, nursed her husband, retired, he died and she died 9 months later. I miss her so.

I am still learning how to blog, link etc. I love being part of the Field and it's hands.

Thanks, Lorie

bummed you won't be there but I think you are wiser than I. :-) My sister is the master planner, so I have faith. She's already sent me that "advisory" in an email, independently. Now that they've put the fear into her, I'm sure we'll have 8 stages of back-up plans. My biggest worry IS the weather. It's just been nuts so far this year. Nut we have actual tickets to the inauguration so how can I not? Worse case, if we can't make our way via Metro from Reston [where we're staying], I'll still be happy to pull up a piece of bar and watch it on tv in the same area. And we intend to go to a ball and everything, too, so we're in for the whole experience and know what we're letting ourselves in for. We figure it really will be once in a lifetime for us.

Suzy, Just saw that you joined those planning on being at the Inauguration! I would love for all of us to meet up, if possible, even if it's for a coffee or cocktail on the fly. We currently intend to be in town from Sunday evening until Wed. morning; what about you?

Thanks for the kind words in your post today, Suzy. I have been feeling like I'm being obsessively negative at a time when I thought we'd be celebrating. Went back and read the note you sent to my page. Your cabin sounds so peaceful! Will see how this all plays out. So greatful for the forum at The Field.

Suzy, thanks for the comment at Al's place and the heads up on the book. I will get it. It is very important that we take back the language and not concede terminology to the right.

If we do so, then we can keep the power we know hav to actually get something done.

Hi Suzy,

Do you know how I invite you to be my friend? I'm still learning the ropes on this site. Will send you longer e:mail soon. Yes, Larchmont. One of my first friends freshman year in college (VT) grew up here. A bunch of us lived in NYC together for years and when we all started having kids and moving out, I ended up movin up here... her whole family lives up the street from here. Monte-sano is a big name at the Yacht Club. There is even a drink named "Monte-sano."

Hi Suzy,
Just checking to see if you are now able to Recommend diaries at Kos. I didn't see the boxes on the right side for a while either. Have been following your exchanges with DK and appreciate your sharing information with us other Field Hands. Let me know if you need any "troop support."

I do not know if the campaign say's that for sure but her Father said it, so just trying to get more attention to it. I am going to ask a couple of friends ( non-interested politically,) to send it in. I am th only political junkie around me.

Suzy, Here is what Pam sent. It works.
Hi Christi:
Quick lesson for linking (which I just learned how to do a few months ago...)
There are other, faster ways depending on which site/program you're in, but here is the basic way...

1) open a new tab/window with the info you want to link. The address of that page is up top in the address bar.
2) right-click on the address in the bar to copy it
3) go back to your original document...and highlight with your mouse the word you want to link.
4) somewhere in the editor where you're writing there should be a little "link" symbol. Click on that, then click paste or "Ctrl and V" and the address will show up.

Sometimes the linked info shows up immediately; sometimes it doesn't show up until you "publish".

Yes We Can!
