An email that I received from Knoxville for Obama
http://my.barackobama.com/page/group/KnoxvilleforObama

OK, this week...
1. We will be tabling on Market Sq. on Wednesday the 25th from 10:30 am-2:30 pm.
We will need 2 vols for this event.
2. We will be tabling at Bliss on Market Sq. Thursday the 26th from 5:00pm-10pm for Sundown in the City. We can use up to 10 vols for this as 4 can work the
tables and up to 6 can circulate in the crowd and register voters.

3. We will be tabling and circulating on Market Sq. for the Kuumba Festival on
the 27th. We can use up to 12 volunteers (many circulating) as this will be an
excellent place to register voters.

4. The Kuumba Festival continues in Chilhowee Park on the 28th and 29th and
though we don't have a table as of yet, we can circulate around the perimeter
and register voters. Perhaps set up a table across the street (booths are
$200-$500 which we don't have). It would be nice to have 6-10 vols for this
event.

5. Tabling on Market Sq. Saturday from 10:00am-2:00pm. We need 3-4 vols for this
event. We will be selling merch and registering voters.

6. There are several Unite for Change Parties happening on the 28th. There is a
party in West Knoxville at 10:00 am, one in Fairmont/Emoriland area at
2:00pm-4:00pm, and one downtown at the Deka Bakari Gallery from 7:00pm-9:00pm.
There will be information on how to start organizing your community at these
meetings. Go to barackobama.com and "Find Events" and enter your zip code for
the party nearest you or.....

Midaged -- I'm glad that you like Monica's work I love it as well. They are porcelain, generally thrown on the wheel then the shape modified and a colored slip is added for texture and decoration so the color is actually in the clay or slip in this case. The glaze is actually clear. You are correct the color choices are traditionally similar to Chinese Celadon. Monica loves Chinese pottery and Chinese art history and the colors reflect that.

We have not maintained a gallery in Knoxville, but Monica's work will be in an upcoming show at http://www.arrowmont.org/special-events.html

The current website will be redone before the year is out.

Scott -- your wife's pottery is absolutely beautiful! Is it porcelain? Also, is it a green-ish vintage-ish tint (might be my browser resolution). Does she have any pieces here in town?

Scott - tell me if you get the other page set up. Hey, if you come to Knox during the campaign, let me know so we can see if there are campaign official (well, non-official) stuff to do. I will check out your wife's art thru the link.

Hey Scott -- I am married to Todd (of Smokin Dave). I think maybe we did meet back in the day. Are you still doing your art up there in Boston?

I started UT in '84. I think I recall the band. Who else was in it? Is that in Planet Earth days? We would have definitely crossed paths as I went to lotsa shows around then. But mostly in college -- so '84-'88. Where did you all play?

Hi Scott -- I am Faybe's sister. She said she posted something on on KnoxBlab about this site. If you have the inclination, please join the Volunteer State for Fieldhands group. Talk later. (BTW, Fay tells me I probably know you from the 80's.)
