thanks for taking the lead on this guitar thing... let's try to do it. ironically, i have essentially the same dream guitar in case you ever see a deal somewhere :P. but yeah -- let's do this.
I think to 'add as a friend' which I've done with you - you go to MY Page
and click 'add as a friend' - at least that's how I added YOU. I went to your page. Yes, Monte-Sano's were, are great sailors. I haven't seen Penny since we lived near each other in NYC in the early 1970's-but know she is still very active with the Yacht Club. I doubt if Penny is at ALL politically active ;( But a great person!!!! She has 2 grown girls, probablya granny by now!
Jeez - just read your post! Larchmont.
Oh, well, if you run into Penny Monte-Sano Langone at the Yacht Club, say hi from her freshman year in college roommate!!! ;-) Seriously. It is that small a world.
Mary Schwartzreich Kaplan used to live there too. (Flint Ave)
Lisa,
You're a KID!!! I'm from New Haven, CT - so my 'first illegal' drinking took place near Pound Ridge ;-))) It was still 21 when I was 17, or 18. So we'd stop for drink on the way to the Village to the Bitter End to hear Peter, Paul, & Mary. YUP!
that old!
Lived in NYC, 1967-1976, London, England 1976-1987, then mostly around Washington DC - until 2006 when I 'retired' to the rural hills of Western MA. Chesterfield (pop. 1,100 approx) to be exact. About 15 miles directly west of Northampton. A BLUE STATE. With access to Trader Joes and fabulous bookstores.
Thank goodness I didn't buy a house the three years I was looking, so I'm still in a delightful wee cabin (900 sq. ft.) in the WOODS, with an organic farm across the street. No mail delivery, we go to P.O. to get our mail. Biggest even in this town is the 4th of July Parade. And the big pumpkiin carving event coming up in a week or so. No cable tv. Very 'sparse' cell phone reception. Heaven. About 120 miles to Boston, when we get 'museum' fever. Friends used to live in Chappaqua, Bedford, so SawMill Pkwy is familiar - expect the turns are still as bad as they used to be!!!
Great idea re: Al's guitar. Will add just juice to his Spring Tour.
cheers, Suzy
I am in Larchmont. About 35 minutes by train on the eastern side of Westchester. Lived in NYC for 14 years. Now have 2 small children so I don't get into City as much as I used to.
