Much will be made of McCain's planned trip to Colombia and Mexico next week. This will be built up, I am sure, as McCain reasserting his strength in foreign affairs and how respected he is world-wide and how he projects the 'right message and image' to the rest of the world because he is engaging with it before the election and will be able to exert his gravitas in this area to better the position of the United States. I had the pleasure of sitting next to him at a dinner during the primaries, and have been feeding him plenty of good Obama info since. The fundraising is getting hard, at this slow time in the summer, and after all our (former?) friends have been called on again and again. (Unfortunately, my husband and I did not reach our goal of too many thousands of $ to mention and we cannot go to the convention, but will keep working on it.... how oppressive the $$ are becoming, but we shall labor on....) I'll be in NY Sunday 29th PM, and was looking to see if there was a meeting then, but no such luck. (BTW, I did not get elected to go to Denver as delegate - there was an insider slate, and not ONE indvidual made it - the whole thing did leave a nit of a bad taste. Gov. Kaine was wonderful, and Mark Warner, well, he is always formost on Mark Warner's side, and of all people, did not take the opportunity to address the HRC supporters as such. Kaine, Schweitzer and Anthony Zinni are still my 3 favorite VP picks. Bed time here - take good care of yourself! Kristina
