Hi, Liz. Thanks for your welcome message last week.
I see in your comment on Al's new "Lessons" is a Seven Letter Word post that you worked for FarmAid for a bit in the '90s. When were you there? I've been working for a FarmAid partner/grantee organization since 1996.
Which way is Ireland leaning? The primary season sure educated me. And I just found out about the Bilderberg group, which my Dutch neighbor has known about all her life.
We can get involved in the politics of our adopted countries. I think it's time for me to start thinking and acting like a citizen of the EU. Do you know of any groups like The Field in the EU?
Hi Lizard Broad, Liz a Broad, or Liza Broad, how are you? Was just checking to get the latest comments on that Saul Alinsky thread, and as a couple of other commenters noted, it's gone! Was there something on it that was too out there for Rural Votes?
Love the idea of Fieldhand t-shirts! I'm definitely gonna get me one of those! Especially since my last name relates to the site name--that will really confuse people.
Are you on the site for a little while or just a drive-by?
Hi Liz,
I'm afraid cat psychology is well beyond my expertise, but there must be scads of websites, forums, how-to videos etc. out there with advice on how to socialize new cats with older ones. Even after five years, my persuasive skills with Wuzzles are far more dependent on cat treats than I suspect they ought to be.
Nope, not nepat (who I assume is indeed a Patriots fan), but netop, which is part of my city's motto of "What Cheer, Netop?" and means 'friend' in the Narragnsett language. It is, as the story goes, the greeting offered by the Narragansetts to Roger Williams when he landed in what would become Providence.
Thanks for reaching out, Liz. Yes, there seem to be a number of cats on Fieldhands (as on the Internet more generally). My avatar photo was taken on Super Tuesday, right after I returned home from my polling station. I felt that Wuzzles, who is unenfranchised, deserved to participate somehow in the excitement.
I have never been involved in online social networking but look forward to taking a first step with this site.
Liz Abroad. Now I get it. Not Liza Broad, which I thought from your name on the field. Anyway, I suppose we'll be seeing each other on the field sooner than face to face, considering the Atlantic Ocean. I post as netop.
Thanks for the welcome, although I ended up here inadvertently as I'm trying to figure out how to start a local group. But now that I'm here I'll likely stay as an old friend is already a member here and in order to comment with each other it looks like I need to be a member of this group anyway.

What do you make of this?

Thanks for the welcome, I'll manage to negotiate ning when I have more time on the week-end.
This is a nice group & I'm happy to be part of it.

I'll get the hang of it, eventually
