NEED STUDENT HELP!

If you are a student, then we need help with manning a table at UT orientation. Also, a table at Pellissippi and other community colleges. UT has orientation almost every week and no one is there!? You have to be a student to do this. We can help get it set up if someone can man this. This is a lost opportunity. Especially community colleges and junior colleges because most of those students live in the area. Great opportunity to GOTV or otherwise get people fired up. Sooooooooooo, some of you students outside of Knox, wanna come on over and help out a scruffy little city?

hello Fieldhands,

I'm glad to hear about Vandy. Too bad it's summer, or it, and all the other schools we have around, would be ripe targets for registration. Though I doubt they're any more politically motivated in general; I just graduated from Memphis, and the most popular events we had were NORML bake sales.

Hopefully we can get something/anything organized for Nashville; the middle Tennessee groups on barackobama.com are cold and lonely. But we Fieldhands are a more ambitious breed.

John -- are most Vandy students for Obama? Curious, it being Vandy and all ... :D

I vaguely recall John saying he was at Vandy -- but maybe out for the summer --or maybe I got that wrong (not at Vandy or definitely out for the summer).

Big fan of the 538 site. I saw that low percentage for Tennessee. Can not wait to get to the link, thanks for posting. I can see Poblano being off by 10 points, but, well, that does not get us anywhere! Glostik swears TN could go Obama and she has been doing tons more on the ground work. Of course, up-hill battle under the best case scenario, but I do not think she would say a 95% incline. I think the campaign will not put much into TN -- but we'll see.

Another thing ... picking up on Phil's reply to John - one of the ways that the Obama campaign measures success in an area are things like how many new voter registrations are signed, and how many house parties are held. So, John, to the extent you can help with the get out the vote efforts, that would be great. Also, glostik knows the organizer over there in Nashville, and if you want her contact info, I can give it to you and Kat. Let me know.
