Hey, Good News: The Field's reception for Field Hands and other friends now has a venue. It will be held the night before Netroots Nation begins, Wednesday, July 17, from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Cedar Door, on 2nd and Brazos in downtown Austin. No cover charge. Cash bar. Put it on your calendar andiInvite local friends and those coming into town for Netroots Nation! More announcements to come.

I propose that we gather on Wednesday, July 16, around 6 or 7 p.m. (after work) somewhere downtown, walking distance from the Austin Hilton (where the convention is happening). Does anybody know of a centrally located place with a smoker-friendly patio?

HI Texans, I'm looking for a group around KIlleen=Temple-Georgetown areas. I won't be able to do Netroots Nation convention tis year. OUt of my pocketook and travel plans. Butr hope to online chat during that time. Is there a group around here?

I'm in Austin, and it would be great to see everybody that weekend. I can't attend all of Netroots Nation, but I could do a get-together.

I'm working on getting to Austin that weekend. I don't know if I can afford the ticket to Netroots, but I would try to attend any extra Texas FieldHands gathering.

And I'll miss the fun, Al! I am actually a part of two fieldhand groups--this one and WI, where I'll be moving at the end of the month.

Currently I am in the "Golden Crescent Crossroads" area, just outside of Victoria. (SD #18)

Hi everyone - I am in Edinburg and haven't seen anyone else from the valley here. I joined the S.A. group earlier but decided to join you this morning to put you over the top. My son will be moving to Houston in the fall, so I might actually be up there sometimes.
