Our nation’s founders believed that the right to bear arms was essential -
to insure common citizens could protect themselves from a tyrannical government.
And that was a good idea.
Back in 1776...
Now every four years the GOP tells us they support the 2nd amendment.
They throw us a bone.
But what good is a gun when they are listening in on our phone calls?
When they know what we say?
What we read?
Who we talk to?
Where we go on the internet?
When the tax breaks go to CEOs and the working folks lose their pensions?
When they drown our country in debt?
When the war is paid for with a credit card?
When we’re losing our homes because their banker pals played fast and loose?
When Hockey Moms lose their health insurance?
When they imprison people without trial?
When we are guilty until proven innocent?
THAT is tyranny and our guns aren't stopping it.
What good is a gun when the intruder doesn’t come in through the window,
but through our phone lines and internet connections?
The GOP doesn’t care if we have a gun -
because it isn’t 1776 anymore.
We need to elect people that protect ALL of our rights
NOT just the 2nd amendment.
Tell the GOP we’re not stupid.
Don't just throw us a bone.
We want the whole steak.
