Hey all,

It's a shame we couldn't all meet, but my take is the logistics were just too difficult. Having the "Big Tent" at the DNC and sharing passes really provided a way/place to connect...that just wasn't the case last week.

That said, I'll upload photos and share some impressions, and hope others will do so too. That's part of being a community here, no? Even if it's bits and pieces, those of us that were in DC, let's work to share the experience.

Josselyn and Fai, glad you were able to swing it!!!

Best, Tonya

Not sure if you guys will be able to access this but here's some pics from our time at the Inauguration. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?page=1&aid=73752&id=513961830 See some of the photo comments for info on our experience.

Sorry Fai and I have been stone silent about trying to get together. We weren't even sure we were going to be able to pull off the trip down til the last minute then had our hands full once there.

And here's one of our friend's blogs about some of it: http://wearethechange.wordpress.com/2009/01/22/just-got-back/ She was the original founder of Buffalo Obama prior to primaries, a convention delegate, and all around cool lady.

Ok, if any of you are still online access, some friends & I are headed to 7th & Jefferson area near the MSNBC booth, as a good meeting point during inauguration. I'll have a big red/black furry-looking coat with Chinese bamboo trim and buttons ;-). And thick-soled black Doc Martin's boots. It's a gorgeous sunny day. Afterward?????? 14th & U Street NW area? Will try Epic.org as well.

Heya people!

Re: staying in touch, who all is on twitter? That worked well during DNC, I know Faith and I are both there (ActsofFaithBlog and Tonya_Hennessey, Al and Erin are there too.) I expect folks are catching the Lincoln Memorial concert Sunday???

Anyone want to meet Monday day? Or, Tuesday after inaug, in the 14th & U Street NW area? And/or meet Ben @ Epic.org then head to 14th & U?

Dear Friends,
Even though I won't be there, my sister has an opportunity if she can find a place to stay Monday night. She's a nurse in Portland, Maine, has been on call to help out for the Inauguration. She has been confirmed to work on Tuesday in one of the Department of Health tents. She was going to stay in Baltimore, but it's a long way into DC, where she has to be at 4:30 Tuesday morning! Does anyone know a place she can stay on Monday night? She will be making the trip with another nurse, whose confirmation is pending. Thanks so much!

Hi folks!

Faith, congrats! How cool! Well, in my view we MUST figure out a FHs meet up, as well as figure out how we can document our experiences at the inauguration festivities on this site to share with those that can't be there in person and help document this historic time.

I've gotta get a few things off my plate this afternoon, am in NY right now, then will turn more attention over here.

One possible meeting place could be Busboys & Poets, off of U Street (and 14th, I think)......the challenge is everywhere will be mobbed.

More later.

I solved my lodging share and have found some roomies. Thank goodness!
Is there a cafe after the swearing in ceremony where we could meet for a beer or margarita? I don't know the area well enough. Thoughts?
