California Constitutional Convention CAN

Hi Everyone - we have published our Petitions and need help with circulation. My two Initiatives that empower us as voters to call for, and then call for a Constitutional Convention here in California are certified for petition circulation. I filed on June 24th, after a 60 public comment period. The text is at our website if you want to read up on what we propose: California Action Network and our Facebook Group is the California Constitutional Convention Group, so please join in to familiarize your self with our work. We will win in November 2010. We will win a strong majority of the Delegates about 120 days later in a Special Election of Delegates (we elect 5 delegates for each Assembly District). There is $200,000 in public campaign money if you want to run for delegate, and the delegates will be paid $500 per day if you want to do the work. We will re-draft the California Constitution to include Marriage Equality, Single Payer, Majority Rule in Governance (and add a 2/3 Rule for the Voters to change our work - limited to Statewide Initiatives), we will end the Prohibition and provide for Community Treatment not Prisons, hopefully end the Three Strikes Law, Decriminalize all who were criminalized in the failed War on Drugs, Close Prisons (about 50% of them) as 80% of our Prison Population will be freed from non-violent possession charges, re-establish the Funding to our Schools to make them the best in the world again, re-structure State Government to link our elected representatives to their voters (not lobbyists - and campaign money bribes), and so much more. The goal is a simple, clear Constitution like the US Model, with a strong set of Amendments for our incorporation of the Bill of Rights to our State, a Labor Bill of Rights, end the Commercial Loop hole in Prop 13 - while protecting residential home owners and apartment renters... there is so much we can do... sane water policy the saves our environment and uses desalination of our Ocean, as one example.
